Popular fall festival returns with outdoor installation of thousands of one-of-a-kind glass pumpkins

Palo Alto, CA, July 3, 2014 – The Palo Alto Art Center, Palo Alto Art Center Foundation, and Bay Area Glass Institute, are pleased to present the 19th Annual Great Glass Pumpkin Patch®(GGPP). This family-friendly autumn celebration represents the largest glass pumpkin patch of its kind in Northern California. Visitors are invited to wander through an outdoor installation of more than 8,000-10,000 one-of-a-kind glass pumpkins, as well as unique glass art objects, created by more than twenty West Coast glass artists. Glass pumpkins and glass objects will be on display throughout the event, and on sale October 11th and 12th, 2014.

The GGPP®, the original Bay Area glass pumpkin patch is the only Patch in which sales go to benefit three important arts nonprofits in the community. Proceeds from the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch® support the Bay Area Glass Institute, Palo Alto Art Center, and Palo Alto Art Center Foundation, as well as participating artists.

Highlights:

The GGPP®, the original Bay Area glass pumpkin patch, is the only Patch in which sales go to benefit three important arts nonprofits in the community;  the Bay Area Glass Institute, Palo Alto Art Center, and Palo Alto Art Center Foundation. The Patch is also unique in that it boasts the largest selection and volume of glass pumpkins in Northern California.

The harvest theme will feature fresh and exciting designs that bring a touch of tradition and elegance to the fall holidays, providing beautiful additions to any collection or home. In addition to the more than 8,000 one-of-a kind designs, the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch® 2014 offers a rare opportunity to engage with the talented artists who created these incredible works of art.


Candlelight Cocktails:

The Palo Alto Art Center Foundation will also present its member event, "Candlelight Cocktails," a fabulous party and pre-sale on Thursday, October 9, from 6 - 8:00 p.m. Those who join the Foundation at the Advocate-level ($250) and above are invited for cool cocktails, small plates, and first pick of the pumpkins.
